You can apply for the D-visa at the nearest Estonian Embassy in your home country or country of residence. If there is no Estonian Embassy in your home country or country of residence, you should contact the nearest Estonian Embassy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vm.ee\/en\/consular-visa-and-travel-information\/visa-information\/application-long-stay-d-visa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">More information about a D-visa<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Citizens of a country eligible to enter the Schengen area without a visa for stays of up to 90 days: According to the guidelines provided by the Estonian Police and Border Guard Board and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, students need to obtain a long-stay (D) visa for study purposes before travelling to Estonia. If you intend to travel to Estonia using visa-free days and submitting your D-visa application at the Service Office of the Police and Border Guard Board in Tallinn, you will be doing so on your own responsibility.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">If your studies last longer than a year<\/span>, then you will need to apply for a <strong>temporary residence permit (TRP) for studying<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The application for the residence permit has to be submitted in person at the Service Office of the Police and Border Guard Board in Estonia. Please note that you must <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">apply for the residence permit as soon as possible after your arrival to Estonia<\/span>. The decision on granting or refusing a residence permit is made within 3 months and if you postpone applying for too long, you might not receive the permit in time before your D-visa expires.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>You are required to <a href=\"https:\/\/broneering.politsei.ee\/qmaticwebbooking\/#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">book an appointment<\/a> for submitting a TRP application. Please note that you are required to submit a criminal record certificate (or proof of no criminal record) from a foreign country. The certificate must be issued within six months before arrival to Estonia and is required for applicants aged 14 and older. Only higher education students, who are permanent residents of Estonia, are entitled to national health insurance in Estonia.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Health insurance for EU citizens<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are an EU citizen and have valid health insurance in your home country <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during your studies in Estonia, you can apply for an European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">a substitute certificate of an EU health insurance card (Form E128). There you can also find some information on practical matters about moving to Tallinn and getting around in Tallinn, including public transport, by car and other modes of transportation.<\/p>\n<p><b>Housing in Tallinn<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EAMT has a <a href=\"https:\/\/eamt.ee\/en\/studies\/student-life\/dormitory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dormitory<\/a> in the centre of Tallinn at Kuhlbarsi Street 1, less than 2 km from the EAMT main building. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Students can apply for a place at the dormitory, which offers rooms for 1\u20132 people<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Applying for a place in the EAMT dormitory is the student\u2019s responsibility. As the number of places at the dormitory is limited, please make a reservation as soon as you have been officially accepted to EAMT, to guarantee a place at the start of your studies. The cards are required for use of the premises and for receiving the keys for the rehearsal rooms\/studios. Ask for a magnetic entrance card as soon as you arrive at the Academy. Cards are issued and activated by <\/span>administrators.<\/p>\n<p><b>The Use of Rooms in the Academy<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The students of the EAMT are entitled to use the classrooms in the main building for practising.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The main building is open from Monday to Friday 8:00-23:00 and on Saturdays and Sundays 10:00-23:00. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The use of a classroom is registered at the administrator\u2019s desk on the ground floor. The amount of time for practising is limited to 2 hours. If rooms are available, the practising time can be extended at the administrator\u2019s desk. For students on academic leave, the right to practise is limited to certain times of the day.
