The seminar “Doctoral Thesis” for doctoral students (artistic branch) \u00a0takes place\u00a0every Tuesday from 2:30 until 4:00 PM in A207<\/strong>. The seminar will not be held during the project weeks. Seminars are conducted by Professors Kristel Pappel, Toomas Siitan and Kerri Kotta. Research Professor Allan Vurma and theatre researcher Madli Pesti will join the discussions whenever possible. All supervisors are also welcome to attend.<\/p>\n The doctoral seminar is intended to discuss doctoral projects that are being planned or are in progress. Passages of text to be discussed must be distributed to all participants on Friday of the preceding week at the latest; longer texts must be distributed on Wednesday of the preceding week. The text must have already been discussed with the respective supervisor.<\/p>\n Each doctoral student presents their work once a semester and participates in at least eight doctoral seminars per semester.<\/p>\n"},{"acf_fc_layout":"tekstikast","page_text":" Since 2014, the\u00a0third-year doctoral student conference (music and dramatic art)<\/strong>\u00a0has been held in mid-March. Each third-year doctoral student must make a 20-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute discussion. The presentation is based on one aspect of the doctoral student\u2019s research.<\/p>\n In 2015, one doctoral student from the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki also participated at the conference, while in its third year the conference welcomed three doctoral students from Helsinki with Director of the DocMus Doctoral School P\u00e4ivi J\u00e4rvi\u00f6.<\/p>\n The V conference of the 3rd year music and dramatic art doctoral students took place on Tuesday March 13th, 2018. Doctoral students Theodore Parker, Saale Fischer, Kristiina Are, Marie-Helen Aavakivi from EMTA, guests Naiara de la Puente Vadillo and Iryna Gorkun-Sil\u00e9n from the Sibelius Academy presented their research topics. In the audience was also lecturer Anu Vehvil\u00e4inen (Sibelius Academy, Helsinki). The VI. conference took place on Tuesday March 12th, 2019. The VII conference was organized on the 10th of March, 2020 with guest from Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, and from the Latvian Music Academy. The VIII conference took place on the 16th of March, 2021. Doctoral students Juhan Uppin, Erik Alalooga, Hanna Junti and Mai Simson presented their research topics.<\/p>\n The ninth conference on 15 March 2022 featured presentations by Ilana Lode, Ana Falcon, Heigo Rosin and Juhan Uppin, as well as guest presentation by EMTA lecturer Theodore Parker, PhD, who has already defended his PhD thesis.<\/p>\n The last PhD conference of the third-year-doctoral students so far took place on 14 March 2023. It was the tenth conference. EAMT was represented by Tiit Ojasoo, Ksenia Rossar, Vittoria Ecclesia, Fabrizio Nastari and Mantas \u0160ernius. Guests — doctoral students Jenna Ristil\u00e4 and Helga Karen from the University of the Arts in Helsinki and Liene Denisjuka-Straupe and Liene Dobi\u010dina from the J\u0101zeps V\u012btols Latvian Music Academy — also introduced their research.
