The applicant will then be asked to:\n<ul>\n<li>Play from memory \u2014 play the a capella work on the piano from memory;<\/li>\n<li>Analyze \u2014 provide an analysis of the two works, which should describe the musical material, relationships between the text and music, and his\/her own interpretation of the work;<\/li>\n<li>Sight-read \u2014 sight-read a) a choral piece on the piano, either in closed or open score; b) a simple piano piece;<\/li>\n<li>Improvise \u2014 improvise a piano accompaniment to a familiar tune (i.e. a children\u2019s song), transpose it up or down by a major second;<\/li>\n<li>Sing \u2014 sing a song of the applicant\u2019s free choosing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After the performance the candidate will be interviewed by a panel of faculty members. During the interview, the examination panel may test the candidate\u2019s knowledge of music and culture. The interview will provide the opportunity for the candidate to demonstrate the sufficiency of their\u00a0<strong>English language skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The examination panel will evaluate the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>fluency and precision<\/li>\n<li>expressiveness<\/li>\n<li>technical proficiency<\/li>\n<li>familiarity with various musical styles<\/li>\n<li>conveyance of personal expression<\/li>\n<li>technical difficulty of the repertoire<\/li>\n<li>general knowledge of music and culture<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n"}],"side_title":"","side_info":"<div
