The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre accepts exchange students in all degree programmes from institutions with whom EAMT has signed an Erasmus+ agreement<\/a><\/span> or who are members of Nordplus thematic networks<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Students interested in exchange studies at the EAMT should first contact the international relations office at their home institution. The subject Estonian Culture and Language for International Students (3 ECTS) takes place in the autumn semester. Time and place will be announced in the timetable at the beginning of the semester.<\/p>\n

The aim of the subject is to create an opportunity for international students to assimilate more efficiently with the social and cultural space of Estonia. To achieve the goal the students will (1) learn the basics of Estonian language, (2) get a general look on Estonian history and culture, including national culture, (3) familiarise with local behavioural standards and more important traditions.<\/p>\n

A selection of themes that are approached:
\n(1) Estonian culture in the context of European and World culture,
\n(2) Estonian language in the family of European and World languages,
\n(3) A brief overview of Estonian history,
\n(4) Estonian nature, incl. most important nature monuments,
\n(5) Estonian population \u2013 nationalities, languages, and religions,
\n(6) Acquisition of elementary language skills for communicating with teachers and fellow students; understanding of simple written signs and announcements,
\n(7) Estonian folk culture and runic song;
\n(8) Estonian song festival culture,
\n(9) Important Estonian cultural facilities,
\n(10) Timing compliance and other European customs that are valued in Estonia.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"Evaluation system","text":"

A subject is considered passed after a positive result at a graded or pass\/fail examination. The number of credit points awarded does not depend on the grade. Testing methods and assessment criteria are specified in the subject syllabus.<\/p>\n

\nPlease note that the dormitory provides no towels, bed-linen, kitchen utensils or cleaning equipment.
\nCheck-in is possible only from Monday to Friday from 1 pm to 5 pm. At other times you must find accommodation initially at a hotel.<\/p>\n
