In August 2021, the development cooperation project of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will finance the studies of two foreign students in the international master’s degree program in cultural management, starts for the first time at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT).<\/b><\/p>\n
Two study scholarships were awarded to one citizen of Georgia and one citizen of Ukraine to support their study in the Master’s program in Cultural Management from Autumn 2021 to Summer 2023. For almost 20 years, the cultural management curriculum has prepared professional organizers and leaders to contribute to the development of cultural organizations and the creative industries at both the local and international levels as an international program. With the help of the scholarship holder, we want to promote the professional development of the cultural organizations in Georgia and Ukraine as an interdisciplinary and influential discipline. Cultural management professionals with international education, European values, and a wide network of professional contacts can contribute to the development of cultural and creative industries at home and to the development of transnational relations through cultural diplomacy.<\/p>\n
This year, 20 students from fourteen countries will start studying cultural management. Among them, Georgian and Ukrainian scholarship holders will be able to solve cultural management challenges\u00a0in Estonia during the two-year study period. This will benefit cultural representatives and artists from their home country, cultural figures, and artists, as well as consumers, audiences, related communities, and the general public. Scholars who have obtained a master’s degree at the EAMT can contribute to the progress of the professional cultural management school in Georgia and Ukraine because the organizers educated here are able to pass on their knowledge and skills in their home country. In the future, the scholarship holders can mediate in Estonian cultural diplomacy and cultural exports and be partners in cooperation projects. The scholarship covers the monthly allowance to cover living expenses and also the cost of tuition for the nominal period of study.<\/p>\n
The project is financed by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the funds of development cooperation and humanitarian aid.<\/p>\n
