Pianist Dalia Balsyt\u0117 has been head of the Chamber Music Department of the\u00a0 Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre since 2008. She is artistic director of the European Chamber Music Academy and actively involved in the European Chamber Music Teachers’ Association. She graduated in 1972 from the M. K. \u010ciurlionis School of the Arts and in 1977 from the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she studied piano under Olga \u0160teinberg and chamber music under Kornelija Kalinauskait\u0117. From 1980 to 1983, she studied at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow under Tatyana Gaidamovich and Alexander Bonduriansky.<\/p>\n
She has performed solo with the Lithuanian Chamber Orchestra and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, and with various\u00a0different chamber ensembles. She was the initiator of the International Lithuanian Composers Chamber Music Performance Competition in 1999 organizing it still. She has been teaching at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre since 1979 holding a professorship since 2008.<\/p>\n
Dalia Balsyt\u0117 has been a member of the panel of judges of several national and international competitions, and has given chamber music master classes at music universities all over Europe.<\/p>\n"}]},"yoast_head":"\n
