ANTON DRESSLER (Italy)

Anton Dressler (1974) has studied at the Moscow Conservatory under Lev Mikhailov and Vladimir Sokolov, at the Bologna Conservatory under Italo Capicchioni and at the La Scala Academy under Fabrizio Meloni and Mauro Ferrando. He has participated in the master classes by Antony Pay, Wolfgang Meyer and Eddie Daniels. Anton has appeared as a soloist in Italy, Belgium, Germany, France, Russia, Sweden, the US, Israel and Taiwan. Deeply committed to the chamber music repertoire, he is one of the founding members of the modular group \u201cKaleido Ensemble\u201d, and has collaborated with such renowned musicians and ensembles as Julian Rachlin, Mischa Maisky, Boris Andrianov, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Boris Petrushansky, Itamar Golan, Ingrid Fliter, Alexander Kobrin, Aviv Quartet, Escher String Quartet and Szymanowski Quartet. Anton has appeared as a guest in several music festivals such as \u201cFestival Dei Due Mondi\u201d in Spoleto, \u201cMusica Sull\u2019Acqua\u201d, \u201cKissingen Sommer\u201d, Aspen and Colmar Festivals, \u201cHomecoming\u201d Chamber Music Festival in Moscow, \u201cFour Seasons\u201d in S.Petersburg among others. He has won first prizes in competitions such as the \u201cYoung Talents of Soviet Union\u201d in Russia, International Competition in Stresa, \u201cPonchielli Competition\u201d in Cremona, \u201cRovere d\u2019Oro\u201d (Italy). He was a prize winner in the International Clarinet Competition in Markneukirchen (Germany) as well as in the \u201cValentino Bucchi\u201d International Competition in Rome. Anton has premiered numerous works by several contemporary composers (U. Brener, E. Podgaiz, M. Bronner, A. Rosenblat, E. Galperin, A. Chaikovsky) who have dedicated their compositions to him. His passion for live electronics has brought him to broaden his repertoire and to create new compositions. Outside the classical field, Anton has taken part as well in numerous klezmer, jazz and crossover music projects.<\/p>\n

Anton Dressler has also a wide experience as an orchestra player having been a member of Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, Padova e Veneto Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra da Camera di Mantova and Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano.
\nHe teaches clarinet at the Conservatories of Pescara and Cremona, and chamber music at the Imola Academy \u201cIncontri col Maestro\u201d (Italy). Anton has given masterclasses in Italy, the US, Estonia and Israel.<\/p>\n

Dressler’s recordings include the Messiaen\u2019s \u201cQuatuor Pour la Fin du Temps\u201d for Athopos (Italy), an album of Russian Music for clarinet and piano for Cryston (Japan), an album with elements of improvisation \u201cDuo al Opera\u201d for Bocconi University and a feature in the CD \u201cLeonid Desyatnikov: The Leaden Echo\u201d by the UK label Quartz. For the same label was recently released \u201cLivemovement\u201d, a solo album of his music for clarinet and live electronics.<\/p>\n
