Arvo Leibur is a required Estonian violin player and soloist, currently working as a concertmaster at the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and Holland Symfonia.<\/p>\n
Arvo Leibur began music studies in 1972 at the Tartu Children’s Music School under the guidance of Virve V\u00e4\u00e4r and continued at the Tallinn Music High School with J\u00fcri Gerretz, graduating in 1982. In 1982\u20131989, he studied at the Moscow Conservatoire with Irina Botchkova, also taking private lessons with Galina Barinova and Igor Bezrodny.<\/p>\n
Arvo Leibur has worked as a soloist in Russia with Yaroslav Philharmonic (1986\u20131988), he has been a violin teacher at the Tallinn State Conservatoire and Kuopio Conservatoire. Since 1991, he has been working also in the Netherlands. In 1991\u20131995, he was a guest member of the New Sinfonietta Amsterdam, taking position of a concertmaster afterwards. In 1995\u20132001, he was a concertmaster of the North Holland Philharmonic Orchestra (Noordhollands Philharmonisch Orkest) in Haarlem. Since 2001, Leibur has been a concertmaster both at Holland Symfonia and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has been a guest concertmaster at Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Nederlands Ballettorkest, Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Tallinn Chamber Orchestra.<\/p>\n
As a soloist, Arvo Leibur has performed with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, Hortus Musicus Academic Orchestra, Kuopio Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra and North Holland Philharmonic Orchestra. His repertoire comprises violin concertos by N. Paganini, F. Mendelssohn and S. Prokofiev. As a chamber musician, Leibur has often performed with guitarist Heiki M\u00e4tlik and pianists Lauri V\u00e4inmaa, Ivari Ilja and Peep Lassmann, giving concerts both in homeland and abroad. In 1997\u20132000, Arvo Leibur has carryed out concert series Paganiniana<\/em>, Viva Espana<\/em>, \u00d5htukellad <\/em>and Tango King Astor Piazolla<\/em> \u2013 with last mentioned also in Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands (in 2000).<\/p>\n Arvo Leibur has recorded several CDs with other distinguished Estonian performers such as pianist Vardo Rumessen (Eduard Tubin’s violin works; BIS, 1993), guitarist Heiki M\u00e4tlik and percussionist Terje Terasmaa. One of the CDs \u2013 Tango King Astor Piazolla<\/em>, was awarded the best Estonian classical recording award in 2000. Arvo Leibur has also published solo CD Euroopa virtuoosid<\/em> in 2008.<\/p>\n Recognitions:
