On 22 March<\/strong> from 9.00 to 10.00 in room A-207<\/b>, the guest will be public and cultural diplomacy specialist S\u0142awomira Borowska-Peterson <\/strong>from the Embassy of Poland to Estonia.<\/p>\n S\u0142awomira Borowska-Peterson (1971) hails from Aleksandr\u00f3w Kujawska, Poland, where she completed her primary education and graduated from the Humanities Gymnasium under the mentorship of esteemed political dissidents Professor Zbigniew Ostrowski and Andrzej Huzary. In the pivotal year of 1989, marked by Poland’s first democratic elections, S\u0142awomira embarked on her academic journey in Polish philology at Jagiellonian University in Krak\u00f3w, with a specialization in theatre studies. She pursued both her master’s and PhD degrees in Japanese Noh theatre, under the guidance of Professors Ma\u0142gorzata Sugiera and Zofia Alberowa. Additionally, she furthered her studies in cultural management at the University of Social Sciences in Poz\u0144an, supervised by Professor Micha\u0142 Iwaszkiweicz.<\/p>\n From 1989 to 2000, S\u0142awomira was actively engaged in academic pursuits and professional endeavors at the Chimera in Krak\u00f3w. Here, she played a pivotal role in its academic activities, contributed to theatre criticism, and orchestrated the development of its artistic and educational programs. She also took charge of the Polish Medical Mission’s initiatives in Kosovo and Albania during this period.<\/p>\n Since 2000, S\u0142awomira has worked at the Polish Embassy in Tallinn, assuming responsibilities in the realms of public and cultural diplomacy. In recognition of her significant contributions to the promotion of Estonian-Polish cultural relations, her efforts in organizing the Year of Chopin, and her support for music education among visually impaired children, she was honored with the Order of the White Star in 2011.<\/p>\n"}]},"yoast_head":"\n
