up unto God. Ex. ii. 23.

blotches and blains broke forth on man
and beast. Ex.ix. 9, 10.

the chief of all their strength.

Lord, for He hath triumphed

hath He thrown into the sea.

The Lord is my strength and my
song; He is become my salvation.

He is my God, and I will prepare
Him an habitation; my father's
God, and I will exalt Him.
Ex. xv. 2.
CHORUS
The depths have covered them: they
sank into the bottom as a stone.
Ex. xv. 5.
CHORUS
Thy right hand, O Lord, is become
glorious in power; Thy right hand,
O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the
enemy. Ex. xv. 6
CHORUS
And in the greatness of Thine
excellency Thou hast overthrown
them that rose up against Thee.
Ex. xv. 7
CHORUS
Thou sentest forth Thy wrath,
which consumed them as stubble.
Ex. xv. 7.
CHORUS
And with the blast of Thy nostrils
the waters were gathered together,
the floods stood upright as an heap,
and the depths were congealed in the
heart of the sea. Ex. xv. 8.
AIR
The enemy said, I will pursue, I will
overtake, I will divide the spoil; my
lust shall be satisfied upon them;
I will draw my sword, my hand
shall destroy them. Ex. xv. 9.
AIR
Thou didst blow with the wind, the
sea covered them; they sank as lead
in the mighty waters. Ex. xv. 10.
CHORUS
Who is like unto Thee, O Lord,
among the gods? Who is like Thee,
glorious in holiness, fearful in praises,
doing wonders? Thou stretchedst out
Thy right hand, the earth swallowed
them. Ex. xv. 11, 12.
DUET
Thou in Thy mercy hast led forth Thy
people which Thou hast redeemed;
Thou hast guided them in Thy strength
unto Thy holy habitation. Ex. xv. 13.
CHORUS
The people shall hear, and be afraid:
sorrow shall take hold on them: all the
inhabitants of Canaan shall melt away:
by the greatness of Thy arm they shall
be as still as a stone; till Thy people
pass over, O Lord, which Thou hast
purchased. Ex. xv. 14, 15, 16.
AIR
Thou shalt bring them in, and plant
them in the mountain of Thine
inheritance, in the place, O Lord,
which Thou hast made for Thee
to dwell in, in the Sanctuary,
O Lord, which Thy hands have
established. Ex. xv. 17.
CHORUS
The Lord shall reign for ever
and ever. Ex. xv. 18.

triumphed gloriously; the horse
and his rider hath He thrown into the sea.

I OSA
RETSITATIIV
Egiptuses ent tõusis uus kuningas,
kes Joosepit ei tundnud; ja ta pani
Iisraeli üle teoorjusele sundijad neid
raske teoga rõhuma; ja nad panid nad teenima
väevõimuga. (2 Mo 1: 8, 11 ,13)
KOOR
Ja Iisraeli lapsed ohkasid
orjuse pärast; ja nende hädakisa
tõusis Jumalani. Nad rõhusid
neid raske teoga, ja panid nad
teenima väevõimuga; ja nende hädakisa
tõusis Jumalani. (2 Mo 2: 23)
RETSITATIIV
Siis Ta läkitas Moosese, oma sulase, ja
Aaroni, kelle Ta oli valinud. Need
tegid Ta tunnustähti nende seas ja
imetegusid Haami maal. Ta muutis
nende veed vereks. (Ps 105: 26, 27, 29)
KOOR
Nad tundsid tülgastust jõest juues. Ta
muutis nende veed vereks.
(2 Mo 7: 18, 19)
AARIA
Nende maa hakkas kihisema konnadest, ennäe,
nende kuninga kambriteski oli neid. (Ps 105: 30)
Ta andis nende loomakarjad katku kätte;
mädavillid ja paised puhkesid niihästi inimestel
kui lojustel. (2 Mo 9: 9, 10)
KOOR
Ta ütles sõna ja tuli tervete hulkadena
sääski ja parme kõigisse nende maa paigusse.
Ta sõnas ja tuli lugematul arvul
rohutirtse ja need neelasid maa viljad.
(Ps 105: 31, 34, 35)
KOOR
Ta andis neile ränka rahet vihma asemel;
tuld rahega segamini lõi
maa peale. (Ps 105: 32; 2 Mo 9: 23, 24)
KOOR
Ta saatis pilkase pimeduse maale,
pimeduse, mida katsu või käega.
(2 Mo 10, 21)
KOOR
Ta lõi maha kõik esmasündinud Egiptusemaal,
kogu nende esmase jõu.
(Ps 105: 36, 37)
KOOR
Aga oma rahva Ta saatis teele
nagu lambad. Ta viis nad välja
ühes hõbeda ja kullaga ega
olnud ühtki, kes oleks komistanud nende
suguharude seas. (Ps 78: 52; 105: 37)
KOOR
Egiptus rõõmustas nende ära minnes,
sest hirm nende pärast oli teda vallanud.
(Ps 105: 38)
KOOR
Ta sõitles Kõrkjamerd ja see sai kuivaks.
(Ps 106: 9)
Ta talutas nad läbi vetesügavuse
otsekui läbi kõrbe. (Ps 106: 9)
Veed aga vallutasid nende
vaenlased, ei jäänud neist üle ühtainustki.
(Ps 106: 11)
KOOR
Ja Iisrael nägi suuri tegusid, mida
Issand tegi egiptlaste peal
ja rahvas kartis Issandat ning nad
uskusid Issandat ja Moosest, Tema sulast.
(2 Mo 14: 31)
II OSA
KOOR
Mooses ja Iisraeli lapsed
laulsid Issandale selle laulu; ja
nad ütlesid nõnda: Ma laulan
Issandale, sest Ta on võidukaks saanud
üliauliselt; hobused ühes ratsanikega
Ta heitis merre.
(2 Mo 15: 1)
DUETT
Issand on mu tugevus ja mu
kiituslaul; Tema oli mulle päästeks.
(2 Mo 15: 2)
KOOR
Tema on minu Jumal ja ma valmistan
Talle eluaseme; Ta on mu isa
Jumal ja ma kiidan Teda kõrgeks.
(2 Mo 15: 2)
KOOR
Vetevood on nad katnud, nad
vajusid kivina sügavusse.
(2 Mo 15: 5)
KOOR
Issand, Su parem käsi oli auline
väes; Issand, Su parem käsi
lõi vaenlase pihuks ja põrmuks.
(2 Mo 15: 6)
KOOR
Ja suurima üleolekuga
Sa oled kukutanud
need, kes tõusid Sinu vastu.
(2 Mo 15: 7)
KOOR
Sa läkitasid oma vihaleegi,
see põletas nad kui kõrred.
(2 Mo 15: 7)
KOOR
Ja Su sõõrmete puhangust
koondusid veed,
kuhilana püsti seisid voolud,
vood tardusid mere südames.
(2 Mo 15: 8)
AARIA
Vaenlane ütles: Ajan taga, võtan
kinni, jaotan saagi; mu himu
saab neist täidetud;
tõmban oma mõõga, oma käega
hävitan nad. (2 Mo 15: 9)
AARIA
Sina puhusid tuult ja
meri kattis nad; nad vajusid tinana
võimsasse vette. (2 Mo 15: 10)
KOOR
Kes on Sinu sarnane jumalate keskel,
Issand? Kes on Sinu sarnane,
ülistatu pühaduses, kardetava kuulsusega,
imetegija? Sina sirutasid oma parema
käe ja maa neelas nad.
(2 Mo 15: 11, 12)
DUETT
Oma armus Sa juhtisid oma rahvast,
kelle Sa oled lunastanud
oma väes Sa talutasid teda
oma püha eluaseme juurde. (2 Mo 15: 13)
KOOR
Rahvad kuulevad ja värisevad,
ahastus haarab neid. Kõik
Kaanani elanikud vakatavad:
Su võimsa käsivarre pärast
tummuvad nad kivina, kuni Su rahvas, Issand,
kelle Sa vabaks ostsid, on läinud mööda.
(2 Mo 15: 14, 15, 16)
AARIA
Sa viid nad kohale ja istutad nad
oma pärisosa mäele,
paika, mille Sina, Issand,
oled teinud enesele
asupaigaks, pühamusse, Issand,
mille on valmistanud Sinu käed.
(2 Mo 15: 17)
KOOR
Issand on kuningas ikka ja igavesti!
(2 Mo 15: 18)
RETSITATIIV
Sest vaaraogi hobune ühes
ta sõjavankrite ja ratsanikega
läks merre ja Issand
tõi tagasi nende peale mere vee,
Iisraeli lapsed aga
käisid kuiva mööda keset merd.
(2 Mo 15: 19)
KOOR
Issand on kuningas ikka ja igavesti!
(2 Mo 15: 18)
RETSITATIIV
Ja naisprohvet Mirjam,
Aaroni õde, võttis trummi
kätte ja kõik naised
läksid välja tema järel trummidega
ja ringtantse tantsides. Ja Mirjam
laulis neile: (2 Mo 15: 20, 21)
SOLIST JA KOOR
Laulge Issandale kõik, sest Ta on
võidukaks saanud üliauliselt; hobused
ühes ratsanikega Ta heitis merre.
(2 Mo 15: 21, 18)
