The early music curriculum deals with styles in the history of music until the period of classical music. The aim is to enhance student’s performance skills and knowledge with detailed, rigorous study of historical performance practice. Activities include teaching Baroque instruments in general as well as optional subjects, where both individual and ensemble lessons play an important role. Additionally, master classes, lectures and seminars are organised in cooperation with other music universities in Europe.
The Ceciliana early music festival takes place in March, with contributions by students and teachers from music universities all over Europe in addition to the students and faculty members of EAMT.
