Meri Zhvania has been praised as one of the leading flute teachers who has taught generations of flute players in Georgia. Her students are the winners of many national and international competitions and many of them are members of leading institutions and orchestras all around the world.

Meri Zhvania has been an Associate Professor at the V. Sarajishvili Conservatoire since 1999, teacher at the Z. Paliashvili central music school since 1991 and teacher at the music seminary since 2015. From 1992 to 2002 she was a member of the Georgian Symphony Orchestra as well as first flute of the Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra in Tbilisi, Georgia, and a soloist of the “Orpheus” chamber orchestra.

Meri Zhvania has been the organizer and artistic director of the International Flute Festival in Georgia since 2012, is organizing many other competitions and is very often invited to judge the national and international competitions.
