Diāna Zandberga is a pianist specialising in artistic research. Having obtained a master’s degree in piano performance at the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music, she completed her PhD in 2014 (thesis title: Historical and Stylistic Development of Piano Texture and its Manifestation in Latvian Music). Diāna has studied with Lazar Berman at the European Academy of Music in Erba, Italy, and improved her performance with Alicia de Larrocha at the Granados Marshall Academy in Barcelona.

Since 1996 Diāna Zandberga has won acclaim for a succession of recitals in European countries, Russia and the USA. She has performed with Shoumen Symphony Orchestra (Bulgaria), Orquestra simfónica del Vallés (conductor Uwe Mund) in Palau de la Musica Catalana (Barcelona), Orchestra Filarmonica di Bacau (Romania) with Francesco Attardi in Milan Teatro dal Verme in a prestigious concert cycle Serate Musicali, Saint-Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra KLASSIKA (Maestro Alexander Kantorov), Latvian chamber orchestra Sinfonia Concertante etc.

Diāna Zandberga has premiered piano works by dozens of different composers, recorded eight piano music albums, including works by Latvian composers – Dace Aperāne Sounds and Echoes (SKANi, 2015) and Imants Zemzaris Eine andere Wandererfantasie (SKANi, 2021) and Landscapes of Latvian Piano Music (SKANi, 2022).

Since 2015 she has been a faculty member of the Piano Department, from 2021 a Researcher at the Scientific Research Center and the Director of the Joint Professional Doctoral Study Programme in Arts, but from 2024 the Vice-Rector for Scientifics and Creative Work of the Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music.
