Liisa Välja is a dedicated viola teacher with a strong focus on pedagogy and the development of young musicians. She holds two master’s degrees: one in interpretation pedagogy from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, and another in music interpretation from the Royal Northern College of Music (UK). Liisa began her musical education at the Tallinn Music High School and continued at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in instrumental teaching.

Since 2013, Liisa has been actively teaching, giving lessons in schools and masterclasses while continually honing her pedagogical skills. In addition to her teaching, she is a passionate orchestral musician, having participated in numerous international projects alongside renowned musicians and conductors. As a chamber musician, Liisa has performed with various ensembles, earning recognition at competitions and festivals.

Since autumn 2021, Liisa has served as an assistant in the Master’s Programme in Cultural Management at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. In this role, she is an indispensable part of the programme’s daily operations, supporting both lecturers and students and ensuring smooth communication and organisation.
