The Cultural Management MA programme at EAMT is continuing its monthly open morning seminar series, held on Fridays in an informal, coffee-scented atmosphere. Each session features an experienced cultural manager invited to share their professional journey and insights.
The guest of our upcoming meeting on 27 March at 9:00–10:00 in room A-207 will be Kaisa Maasik (b. 1994), a Tallinn-based curator and artist. She holds an MA in Contemporary Art (2021) and a BA in Photography (2017) from the Estonian Academy of Arts. In 2019, Maasik furthered her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of the Arts Helsinki, participating in the Praxis Master’s Programme for curators.
Collaboration plays a central role in Maasik’s practice. She works both collectively and independently on exhibition projects that engage with spatial dimensions. She has been part of the organising teams of the project space Vent Space (2018–2019) and the Tallinn Photomonth Biennial (2017 and 2019). In 2020, Maasik was awarded the Wiiralt Scholarship.
Since 2021, she has been a member of the Estonian Union of Photography Artists, and since 2022, a member of the Estonian Artists’ Association. Maasik served as Executive Director of the Estonian Union of Photography Artists from 2022 to 2024. Since early 2024, she has worked as a gallery manager at the Estonian Academy of Arts and as the chief organiser of the TASE Graduate Show Festival.
All those interested – students and faculty alike, regardless of their field of study – are warmly welcome to join! The seminar will be held in English.
