Instrumental Chamber Music

EAMT places great importance on the teaching of chamber music, emphasising the development of ensemble skills through diverse group settings and a wide-ranging repertoire. To encourage the growth of these skills, EAMT regularly organises conferences with presentations on the latest developments in chamber music. These events often feature master classes led by renowned professionals, now a vital component of our programme.

Our chamber music ensembles form a dynamic performance community, offering students numerous collaborative opportunities with fellow musicians and artists from various disciplines. A key event in our academic year is the International Student Chamber Music Festival. This festival not only showcases our students’ talents but also connects them with international concert producers and integrates them into the global concert scene. Our chamber music teachers are actively involved in the European Chamber Music Teachers Association (ECMT), with the head of studies currently serving as the chair of ECMT.

Participation in chamber music competitions has become a tradition at EAMT, with our student ensembles consistently delivering outstanding performances. These ensembles also feature in our “From Time to Time” concert series, allowing them regular performance opportunities in front of live audiences.

In addition to our focus on chamber music, EAMT has introduced a new optional course in orchestral practice for piano students. This course is designed to provide practical experience and guidance, enhancing their proficiency in orchestral settings.
