Violinist Sanita Zariņa was born in Riga, studied first at E. Dārziņš Music School under Romāns Šnē and thereafter at the J. Vītols Latvian Academy of Music in the violin class of Prof. Juris Švolkovskis continuing her studies in 1999 in the string quartet class of Prof. Agne Stepiņa-Sprūdža.

In 2004, she obtained her master’s degree from the Basel Academy of Music in the violin class of Prof. Adelina Oprean and in chamber chamber music under the guidance of Walter Levin, Hatto Beyerle, Gerard Wyss and Sergio Azzolini. One of her focus points there was also early music that she mastered from 2003 to 2007 at Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in the baroque violin class of Prof. Chiara Banchini.

Since 2008 she has worked as string quartet lecturer in the Latvian Academy of Music being also a member of the Kremerata Baltica orchestra since 1996 and the Kesselberg Ensemble since 2005.
