The Cultural Management master’s programme is continuing with a monthly open morning coffee seminars on Fridays, to which an experienced cultural management practitioner is invited.
On 17 November from 9.00 to 10.00 in room A-207, the guest will be Mari Nurk, Head of Marketing of the Estonian Drama Theatre.
Mari studied at the Hugo Treffner Gymnasium in Tartu graduating in 2002. Her deep interest in literature and folklore led her to the University of Tartu, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2007. Her education continued at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she obtained a master’s degree in cultural management in 2008-2012.
After completing her studies, Mari has worked in various cultural institutions: from 2009-2011 she worked as the Public Relations Manager of the Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences bringing along fresh thinking and enthusiasm; from 2011-2014 she worked at the Ministry of Culture as the Head of the Public Relations Department, contributing to the development of Estonian cultural policy; from 2014-2020 she fulfilled the role of the Marketing and Public Relations Manager at the Ugala Theatre in Viljandi and was given the Estonian Theatre Union’s Best Administrative Employee Award in 2018. Today, Mari works as the Head of Marketing of the Estonian Drama Theatre, continuing the mission of promoting culture by bringing with her a wealth of experience and knowledge from previous challenges.
