Enrique Javier Mendoza Salamanca  is a guitarist, composer and educator, who completed his studies at the Manuel de Falla Conservatory of the City of Buenos Aires, Argentina 2009 and obtained his master’s degree in composition at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in 2017.

From 2011 to 2022, he served as the coordinator of the jazz and popular music emphasis at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, where ee currently as professor of guitar, jazz theory and ensemble directing. He plays guitar in several groups (Suricato, Mula, El Ombligo, Los Toscos) with whom he has recorded and toured nationally and internationally.

In April 2022, he published together with drummer and musicologist Jorge Sepúlveda a book “Jazz Colombia Real Book” that is the first compilation of the repertoire of Colombian jazz players and which was presented at the Bogotá Filbo Book Fair in 2022.
