PERRINE MADOEUF (France)
16-17 January @15.00-19.00 in C-405

Perrine Madoeuf caused a veritable sensation performing the role of Countess Adèle in Rossini’s Le Comte Ory in 2019 at the Opéra de Rennes and subsequently at the Opéra de Rouen. The specialized press commented enthusiastically “the evidentially belcanto-specialist’s luxuriant sound and vocal flexibility as well as the pure clearness of her coloratura and phrasing” (Resmusica), “her instinctiveness and communicative energy” (ODB-Opéra), her “seductive timbre and masterly control of complex phrases in diverse registers” (Olyrix) and “her striking vocal implicitness” (Forumopera).

Born in Lyon, Perrine Madoeuf entered the Maîtrise de l’Opéra of her home-town with nine years only being entrusted the role of Gretel (Haensel and Gretel) under Kent Nagano’s baton already in this early age. She pursued her musical education at the Conservatoire and the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon before completing her studies as a member of the De Vlaamse Opera Studio in Antwerp. She emerged with distinction from vocal competitions like Operalia (Verona 2013), Concours de Chant Mâcon (2013), Concours d’opérette Marseille and Forum Lyrique d’Arles (2014).

Her meanwhile manifold stage-repertory includes roles like Susanna and Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Donna Elvira and Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Adina (L’elisir d’amore), Violetta (La Traviata), Gilda (Rigoletto), Tatyana (Eugene Onegin), Countess Adèle (Le Comte Ory), Marie (La fille du régiment), Marguerite (Faust), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Manon (Massenet), Micaëla (Carmen), Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Zénobie (Ciboulette) and Blanche de la Force (Dialogues des Carmélites) as well as operetta-roles by Offenbach, Hahn, Kálmán and Lehár.

She performed as Mozartian soprano in Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s stage-play Ma vie avec Mozart at the Brussels Palais des Beaux Arts and the Paris Salle Gaveau and joined a tour-production of Bernstein’s West Side Story performing the role of Maria with the ensemble Solistes de Lyon throughout France, Canada and China. Guest-appearances made her appear with the opera-companies in Montpellier, Nice, Rennes, Metz and Rouen, at the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Marseille, the theatre in Biel-Solothurn (Switzerland), the Latvian National Theatre in Riga, the Estonian National Opera in Tallinn, the National Theatre of Albania in Tirana and at the Algiers Opera House.

In 2021, Perrine Madoeuf made her debut at the Opéra Comique (Paris) while spectacularly and triumphally jumping in as Juliette in a new production of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette. She subsequently performed in Le Comte Ory (Comtesse Adèle) at the Metz Opera, Roméo et Juliette (Juliette) and Faust (Marguerite) at the Estonian State Opera (Tallinn) and Gypsy by Styrne (Liane de Pougy) at the Théâtre de l’Odéon in Marseille.

Her plans for 2022/23 include Carmen (Micaëla) for her debut at the Royal Danish Opera (Copenhagen), Roméo et Juliette (Juliette) and Le Nozze di Figaro (Contessa) at the Estonian National Opera (Tallinn), Don Giovanni (Donna Anna) at the Tartu Opera (Estonia), Orphée aux Enfers (Eurydice) at the Nice Opera as well as L’Elisir d’amore (Adina) at the Rennes Opera and at Angers Nantes Opera.
