Dear all,

Unfortunately, we must acknowledge that in the upcoming academic year, we must once again take into account the dangers, inconveniences and possible limitations caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We of course want to believe that at least the practical learning can take place on a regular basis, as in the previous academic year. However, is it possible to organize choir and orchestra rehearsals, have performances, conduct lectures and seminars in the form of contact learning, and organize traditional student parties? At the moment, we do not yet know this, but in many ways, the full functioning of our academic life is in our own hands. The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre invites all its students and employees who have not yet been vaccinated to get vaccinated before the start of the new academic year.

If the vast majority of the Academy’s membership has been vaccinated, then the probability of our colleagues and fellow students getting (seriously) sick as well as the number of mandatory isolation days will decrease, at the same time, learning and creative activities, academic mobility, academic and social interaction, etc. could take place more freely.

The Government of the Republic of Estonia plans various opportunities to participate in work, study, and cultural events on the basis of the so-called corona passport. Based on these, the EAMT Rector’s Office will develop measures and guidelines by the beginning of the academic year to help keep our study and work environment as safe and open as possible.

For more information on vaccination options, see vaktsineeri.ee/en
