Heidi Lehmuskumpu is a versatile expert in fundraising, communications, marketing and stakeholder relations, with some 20+ years of experience.
Lehmuskumpu has graduated as a Fulbright Scholar from the Fundraising and Grantmaking Master’s Program at New York University (2013). Her other two Master’s degrees are from the fields of Economics (Aalto University, Helsinki School of Economy, 2002) and Arts Management (University of the Arts Helsinki, Sibelius Academy, 2013). She is also enrolled as a PhD student at the University of the Arts Helsinki, Sibelius Academy, and her the working title of her PhD is “Co-Creating Societal Value – the Core of Strategic Fundraising in the 21st Century. Multiple Case Studies of International Opera and Ballet Organizations”.
Within the field of fundraising, Lehmuskumpu has focused on strategic fundraising in the fields of arts and science. She has worked at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet (2016–2020) and at the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Medicine (2013–2020). In both organizations she worked as a pioneer, paving the way for the new culture of asking and giving. She has also given several lecturers and workshops on fundraising. In addition, Lehmuskumpu has worked at various corporate communications and investor relations tasks, and as a journalist – writing both news and content marketing articles.
