The official admission period for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre concluded on 2 July. EAMT received 360 applications from student candidates, of whom 210 were offered study places.

156 applications were submitted for bachelor’s studies, including 50 for curricula in English. EAMT accepted 92 student candidates, 76 for the Estonian and 16 for English curricula.

EAMT received 180 applications for master’s studies, including 112 for curricula in English. EAMT accepted 113 student candidates, 61 for the Estonian and 52 for the English curricula.

24 applications were received for doctoral studies, 14 of them from international candidates. EAMT accepted 5 new doctoral students.

4 applications were received for the music preparatory course. EAMT accepted 2 candidates.

The most popular majors for bachelor’s studies in Estonian were composition and music technology, music pedagogy, string instruments, classical singing and jazz. For master’s studies, the number of applicants was highest in classical singing, keyboard instruments, brass and woodwind and cultural management.

The most popular majors for bachelor’s studies in English were composition and music technology, jazz, brass and woodwind, and for master’s studies cultural management, classical singing and orchestral conducting.

The countries of origin of the new international students are numerous as usual. EAMT accepted students from Finland, Latvia, China, South Korea, Italy, Russia, Turkey, USA, Spain, Portugal, Georgia, Japan, Mexico, Nigeria, Singapur, Ukraine, Netherlands, Lithuania, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, France.

 

NB! Additional admissions

The Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre is announcing additional admissions for a small number of study places for the academic year 2021‒2022 in the following curricula:

  • Classical Music Performance (bachelor’s studies)
  • Jazz (bachelor’s studies)

Applications must be submitted from 1 August to 23 August through the DreamApply system. Entrance examinations will take place from 24 to 27 August. Please take note that the number of available study places is quite limited.
