THE TENTH COMPETITION OF ESTONIAN PIANISTS (Deadline 1.10.2024)

The Competition of Estonian Pianists is a long-standing event that serves as a starting block for local talented pianists. The event has its roots in 1968. The most recent competition took place five years ago and since then we have seen a new promising generation of pianists eager to put their skills to test.

Third RoundAll rounds take place in the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Great Hall. First and second round are free of charge for the audience. The third round includes the performances of the competition finalists and the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.
Competition structure
First round
Consists of polyphony, a classical large form and etudes, allowing the participants to demonstrate their range as musicians.
Second round
In addition to the compulsory piece, the competition participants will perform music in at least two different styles. The musicians are free to assemble their own repertoire that allows them to express their musical nature.
Third round
The final round includes the accompaniment of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, allowing the six finalists to perform a piano concerto with the orchestra.The competition welcomes participants who are Estonian citizens, legal residents of Estonia and foreign students residing in Estonia. Alumni of the EAMT who have graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree within the last three years are also encouraged to participate. There is no age limit for participants.
