International Relations

The drama department of EAMT has connections with a number of other leading theatre institutions of higher education in Europe as well as in Russia. Student exchanges and international workshops are organised in collaboration, while ideas on the future of theatre education are shared among many partners in the international network.

One of the long-time partners of the drama department of EAMT is the Rose Bruford College of Theatre & Performance (London, UK), with which a student exchange has taken place consistently since 2001. The Escuela Superior de Arte Dramatico de Castilla y León (Valladolid, Spain) has also been a partner of student exchange for the department of drama for several years.

Meetings and collaboration with theatre schools in the Nordic and Baltic countries takes place through the Norteas network, of which the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre has been a member since 2008.

The drama department of EAMT also has good relations with Russian theatre schools of long tradition, such as the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts (GITIS) in Moscow and the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI) in Saint Petersburg.

Student exchanges and international workshops have been funded by the Erasmus+ programme, the Norteas network, the Estonian National Culture Foundation and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
