JESON JOY (India)

Jeson Joy (2001) is a performer, director and choreographer with a rich background in theatre and physical performance. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Studies, English and Psychology, having completed a comprehensive three-year course. In addition to his academic training, he further honed his skills through specialized courses. Completed the “Body and Performance” a physical theatre course from Moving Parts mainly working at the intersection of dance, physical theatre and Performance art. He was awarded with a scholarship specializing in Indian Contemporary under Aayana School of Dance and Madness and also delved into the art of clowning.

He also worked in the educational sector as a theatre resource person at FREEDOM INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL a school affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. He has also conducted Initial Sensitization Programs, Theatre for children with Autism and learning disability with FLUTE THEATRE and NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF MENTAL HEALTH AND NEURO SCIENCE.

The prospect of delving into the world of physical and movement theatre excites him greatly and has always been drawn to the power of art which not only entertains but also provokes thought, invites dialogue, and celebrates the richness and complexity of human experience.
