CPPM Auditions 2024
Dear CPPM applicant!
Congratulations!
You made it to the second round! On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about and prepare for auditions. During the audition, you will go through a variety of individual and group exercises, creative assignments, written tasks, and an interview. These activities are designed to help us assess your suitability for the course while providing you with a firsthand experience of life at CPPM. This process is an excellent opportunity to determine if our program aligns with your goals and aspirations.
The audition process works as a workshop to avoid the typical casting situation in which many attributes of your being would be foreshadowed by a competitive environment. Therefore, we will try our best to create an environment free of any harmful judgment, and we invite you to put your mind to this experience as if you were preparing for a joyful encounter, nurturing it with your playfulness and passion and leaving your fear aside .
We can’t wait to meet you!
CPPM Admission Team
What to prepare?
Please prepare the following for your audition:
- Prepare a 5-minute solo performance highlighting your range, skills, and style as a performer. You can feature an excerpt from your current work or repertoire or craft a live “trailer” that blends multiple pieces. Your goal is to demonstrate your versatility and skills as a performer and show us “where you are at” with your practice, making a point of why you need CPPM to develop further.
- Complete the Creative Task. Detailed information can be found here . The objective of this task is to demonstrate your skills and vision as a performance maker and artist.
- Choose a short public speech (from TV, radio, TED talk, etc) you feel passionate about and learn it by heart . The speech should last no longer than 1-2 minutes. It can be in English or your native language. If it is not in English, please bring a translation with you.
- Prepare one song to perform. If you want to accompany it with a musical instrument, bring it with you. You may also use your musical instrument during other creative tasks during the audition.
- Learn by heart a fragment of Poseidon’s speech from Jocelyn Clark’s adaptation of “Trojan Women” (after Euripides). You do not need to interpret the text, but ensure you know it by heart for different tasks during the audition. You can find the text here .
- Learn a Short Movement Sequence from Gecko’s performance “Institute.” The instruction video can be found here .
What to bring with you
Please note that it is a physically demanding audition, so please bring appropriate clothing for physical work and a water bottle to keep hydrated. We work mainly barefoot, but it would be good to bring some sports/dance shoes with you for some tasks.
Written assignment
There will be a short written task at the end of your first audition day. Please bring your laptop/device so you can write and submit your written task via email. Alternatively, it is possible to submit your writing on paper.
Interviews
You’ll have an interview with the admission team, and we’ll confirm the schedule during lunch on your first audition day. It’s a wonderful chance to chat about your expectations for the course and see if it’s the right fit for you.

Online auditions
Preparing for an online audition involves the same tasks as a face-to-face audition. However, you can adjust some tasks (solo performance, creative task) for presentation in front of the camera.
To participate in an online audition, you’ll need a spacious studio space to move around in, a reliable internet connection, a computer, a webcam, and a microphone.
Below, you’ll find the schedules for each online audition round. Please note that online auditions span two full days, and your presence is required for the entire period as indicated in the schedule.
We recommend using the Time Zone Converter to avoid any confusion with time zones.

Audition information session
Here is a recording of the audition information session CPPM Course Leader Jüri Nael recorded for you all.
CPPM Targeted Scholarship
We are offering eight scholarships:
- Four scholarships offer a 50% reduction on the full tuition fee
- Four scholarships offer a 25% reduction on the full tuition fee
These scholarships directly reduce tuition fees and are not distributed as cash. The scholarship value (25% or 50%) is subtracted from your initial tuition fee. For example, if you’re an EU applicant with a full tuition fee of €7000, a 25% scholarship reduces your fee to €5250, while a 50% scholarship lowers it to €3500 per academic year. As a non-EU applicant, if your full tuition fee is €13,000, a 25% scholarship brings it down to €9,750, and a 50% scholarship reduces it to €6,500 per academic year.
The audition panel awards these scholarships for the first academic year based on audition outcomes. Scholarship recipients will be notified in their acceptance letters, with the adjusted tuition fee detailed. If a scholarship awardee declines their course place, the scholarship will be reassigned to another student.
Each scholarship is valid for one academic year. At the start of the second year, all CPPM students can apply for eight similar scholarships for their second academic year. The CPPM course committee will decide based on academic performance, artistic dedication, and overall course contribution.
Scholarship Application Form
To be considered for the scholarship, submit your Scholarship Application Form by 1 August 2024 at 23:59 (Tallinn time GMT+3). Late submissions will not be considered.
