Selection process
The selection process for Open Workshops is carefully designed to bring together a diverse group of participants, creating an environment enriched by varied perspectives, experiences, and artistic backgrounds. By curating a group that represents a wide range of skills, ideas, and creative practices, we aim to foster a learning atmosphere that is both dynamic and inspiring. Evaluating applicants is a nuanced process, considering professional experience, personal motivation, and the extent to which the applicant’s practice aligns with the workshop leader’s unique artistic vision. Focusing on these factors ensures that each participant is well-suited to contribute to and benefit from the overall experience. This selective approach helps maintain the high quality of the workshops and guarantees individualised attention, ultimately making the sessions impactful and memorable for everyone involved.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible, as places are highly limited due to the intensive nature of the workshops, and participation cannot be guaranteed. Once you have completed and submitted your online application form, you can expect to receive a response within 10 working days. During this time, we advise applicants to monitor their email regularly to ensure they do not miss any critical communications, such as updates regarding their application status. If your application is successful, you will receive additional detailed information and instructions about the workshop, including any preparatory materials, schedules, and logistical details that may be required.
These workshops are designed to be educational and foster a sense of community among participants. By focusing on building a collaborative environment, we hope to inspire participants to share knowledge, explore new ideas, and support one another throughout the learning process. The sessions are structured to provide ample opportunities for interaction with the workshop leader and fellow participants, allowing everyone to learn from each other’s experiences and expertise. This emphasis on collaboration and mutual support makes these workshops enriching opportunities for growth in one’s professional and artistic journey.

Fees
Fees for each workshop are mentioned below under each workshop.
Once you are accepted into the workshop, the academy will send you an invoice with all the relevant payment details, including the amount due, available payment methods, and the deadline for payment. It is crucial that you pay the invoice promptly, following the provided instructions, as your spot in the workshop will only be confirmed once payment has been received. Due to the high demand and limited availability of these workshops, late payments may result in losing your place. To prevent any issues, we strongly recommend settling your payment as soon as you receive the invoice.
-
Travel and Accommodation
Participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodation and travel. The academy does not provide these services, so we strongly recommend making these arrangements as soon as your participation is confirmed to avoid any issues. Booking accommodation and travel early is essential, as availability can become limited closer to the workshop dates, especially in peak seasons. Depending on individual preferences and needs, participants may wish to explore a range of options, from hotels to more budget-friendly alternatives such as hostels or short-term rentals. Detailed information regarding the workshop location and the schedule will be provided to assist with your planning.

Certificate of Participation
Upon completion of the Open Workshops, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Participation from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre’s Open University. This certificate will provide essential details such as the workshop title, the names of the workshop leaders, and the total number of hours attended. In addition to serving as valuable documentation for potential academic credits, this certificate can be an excellent addition to a participant’s CV, demonstrating their commitment to continuous professional development. It highlights specialized training under the guidance of renowned international artists, which can enhance career opportunities and showcase a proactive approach to personal and professional growth.
