Lavakunstikool alustab treeningprogrammiga „Lifelong Learning for Acting”, kus professionaalsed näitlejad nii Eestist kui mujalt saavad käia koos ennast arendamas. See on näitlejate laboratoorium ja „jõusaal”, toimub mitmekesine psühhofüüsiline kollektiivtreening ilma kohustuseta loomingulise tooteni jõuda. Programmi veab ja juhendab rahvusvahelise haardega õppejõud ja teatrilavastaja Giacomo Veronesi. Tema kirjeldust programmi kohta saab lugeda allpool (inglise keeles).

Treeningud saavad toimuma Tallinnas, Solarise keskuse kõrval asuva Teatrimaja saalis loodetavasti igal aastal erinevatel perioodidel.

Dear friends and colleagues,

My name is Giacomo Veronesi, and for those who might not know me — I’m a theatre and performance artist working between practice, research, and teaching. Over the years, my focus has been on how to sustain collective artistic practices over time.

If you’re interested in knowing more about my background, you can find it here (link).

I’m writing to share something that feels both urgent and full of possibility.

Starting this spring, EMTA Lavakunsti osakond is opening a Lifelong Learning Program for Acting.

What does it mean?

A place for professional actors to come and explore within the always-shifting horizons of the contemporary.

A place to find community, both locally and internationally.

A place to keep growing beyond production schedules, to train new skills, and to explore how the art of acting can continue to evolve throughout life.

The vision behind this project comes from the belief that, despite the structural difficulties actors often face when pursuing further study, the need is there — and the academy is committed to finding a form that truly works for actors, theatres, and education alike.

Before officially launching, we’ll begin with a pilot phase in the first two weeks of March, in a dedicated venue in the centre of Tallinn. During this pilot, we’ll gather a group of actors and practitioners to experiment, exchange, and help shape the foundation of this new learning space.

Because this is an attempt at doing something unprecedented, we need to work together — to ease resistances and demonstrate that this initiative can truly function; that it deserves support, sponsorship, and a place in theatre calendars; and that it can attract international artists to come to Tallinn.

For this, we need your connection and your curiosity.

Join us, understand what we’re trying to build, share what would make it meaningful from your perspective, and — if it resonates — help us open conversations with your theatre leaders and collaborators.

If this speaks to you, I warmly invite you to:

Reply to this email to express your interest in taking part in the March pilot or in later sessions — please share under what conditions this would be possible for you, or simply ask any questions;

Or join a dedicated Zoom conversation, where we can exchange ideas and get to know one another better.

This first step is about forming a community of actors who wish to grow within and beyond their art — who believe that learning can remain a lifelong, shared, and inspiring process.

Let’s take action together to make it happen under the best possible conditions.

With warmth and excitement,

Giacomo Veronesi
